Ceilidh and Party band, Avon, Somerset, (STW03)

One of THE premier West Country Ceilidh bands. Renowned for playing infectious dance rhythms and melodic tunes alike.

First of all, these superb musicians play an extensive selection of English, Irish, Scottish and European traditional music for dancing, with their own charismatic female caller ‘Miss Dixie’ leading beginners and experienced dancers alike.

And, being great entertainers, the band can also perform many of the popular Irish and Scottish traditional songs, especially important for full celebrations like St Patrick’s Night and Burns’ Night to keep the tempo rolling between dances.

The band’s core trio line-up comprises scintillating fiddle work, well-crafted electric guitar and driving percussion and vocals from ‘Miss Dixie’ herself, your caller…………..

(Note – See Band Refs STW04 and STW05 elsewhere on the website….the band can also extend their line-up to include whistles/flute, banjo and full-kit drummer…..whereby, to vary the night even more, the same band can become a glitzier, slick functions band – meaning they will change dress to suit and perform several of the classic songs and hits from the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and recent chart hits.COMPLETE VERSATILITY…..TWO BANDS FOR THE PRICE OF ONE !!…….all music samples feature the band’s larger band)
