Here’s some extremely gifted musicians.
First there’s Simon (melodeon) and Nina (piano)….Simon has been a leading musician, well-known throughout the ‘folk dance/music’ and Roots music world whilst Nina (as well as being an accomplished pianist and vocalist) also has a background in jazz music. And then, to complete the trio… there’s TIm………….loosely described as “the multitalented Mr Tim Walker on brass and percussion, who is somewhat like an octopus in his ability to play a multitude of instruments at the same time” (the words of others, not mine,you understand…..I wouldn’t dream of …). AND, he calls the dances as well!!
However,Tim does have this ‘knack’ of playing all sorts of things percussive whilst playing the cornet with his eighth hand! Don’t even ask about his feet! Yet Tim is one of the most experienced drummers on the scene, also working frequently as a percussionist in pit bands.
They are somewhat unique, since this is a trio which includes the caller. Of course,in the picture,they are posing – as if butter wouldn’t melt……………………….
