Description
This ceilidh band have played together since the early 1990’s, bringing together their experience of all kinds of folk, dance and related music to barn dances. The band usually appear as a 4/5 piece line-up (plus caller/musician,Vic) from the members below.
When their bass player left them in 1998 they were fortunate to get Dave to replace him and at the same time gain a second fiddle player, Ben.
Tina (concertina) and Vic (caller/guitar) have played in a number of dance bands, and also work as a singing duo, as well as organising a very successful weekly folk music club.
Bing is in great demand as a musician – (he also plays piano, flute and guitar) and Ben has been playing the traditional music of Sweden, Ireland and the USA (as well as blues, jazz and rock of various kinds) since he was six, on the stages, screens and street corners of two continents. He has toured and recorded extensively with his father Tom, both as a duo and with Joe Locker as the New Deal String Band. Dave has worked with various country and folk rock bands over the years as well as with Banjax and Maxwell’s Demon.
The band has played in every kind of venue – from windswept fields and dusty barns, to zoos, faded hydro hotels and elaborate marquees – and for every occasion, including birthday and wedding parties, PTA and works outings, street parties and charity fund-raising events and various folk festivals. As caller, Vic can get anyone up to dance, and the band’s infectious rhythms and lively attitude guarantee a successful occasion.
