Ceilidh band,Devon, Torquay, Exeter, Plymouth (SW03)

Description

From South Devon, this 5 piece band formed in early 2009.Their standards soon meant a flow of bookings followed – they are now settled in their new format and are well on their way to becoming a force to be reckoned with on the ceilidh and barn dance scene in the West Country, complete with their own regular caller and sound engineer.

The musicians comprise

Mandola and Mandolin – Tony
Originally from the Midlands, Tony has performed in many bands for folk clubs over the years before moving to the West Country – also plays tenor banjo, guitar and bouzouki.

Percussion – Susie who has been a percussionist for many years in the South East and the West Country

Accordion – Angie took up the accordion in her teens and has been playing in Ceilidh bands since 2004

Whistles/Recorders – Pam – having started with the clarinet in various bands and orchestras,she developed a real passion for whistles and recorders (as well as dabbling with saxaphone, melodeon and piano)

Guitars and 5 String Banjo – Perren provides a solid and creative rhythm backing to the band, and is invaluable for both finger style and strum accompaniment on both guitars and banjo

Sound Engineer – Dave provides and engineers the band’s PA system and lighting,making sure that the music heard is well balanced as it should be for the benefit of both musicians and dancers alike
